Senator Jim Bunning blocking benefit extension!!!!

So it's OK for the Blue Bloods to get their corporate welfare checks, aka bailouts, but blue collar gets kicked to the curb? Said it before, I'll say it again, so long a the big boys get their hand outs, the little guy should get his. How odd the irony that corporate America itself is driving us towards total socialism.

HOW COME
US ARMY

stop the military industrial ocmplex of USA

western countries spend money not on military, but on benefits

Military is constitutionally mandated, social programs are not.

The military protects/defends liberty and freedom, social programs diminish them.

Bunning only has the balls to do this because the Republican Senate leadership have basically kicked him out of the party and most definitely taken his senate seat away by not supporting him for re-election. He has nothing to lose.
I wish every congressperson would vote with the same nothing-to-lose attitude instead of being more concerned about their political future than the future of America.

That being said, based on other stories I've read, Bunning may be more interested in burning the Republican party (retaliation) with these moves than being concerned about deficit spending....a shame if true.

Social programs diminish liberty and freedom, another classic. :D

offshoring is killing the US.
ban offshoring
get universal healthcare, no more bankruptcy

US has worst benefits of western world, but still 100%+ GDP debt. Western countries have less if u dont count the PIGS. even though western countries spend more on social benefits

the military industrial complex of the USA is the only thing that might stop this country from joining the 3rd world in about 30 years.

why dont you try all the entitlement programs passed since 1960s...

I agree 100%.

And you're right Bunning is so pissed off at Mitch McConnell and the rest of the Senate he's is simply trying keep alive the perception that Republicans are simply the party of the old white guy and the party of "no." There's nothing principled about this charade. Although Bunning's been a dick his whole life.

Your joking right, ever hear of Cuba or the soviet union? Two very successful governments where social justice was their priority.

You do realize that if you read history you will see all mighty empires fell.................from the cost of maintaining the military. Pick Rome, pick the UK (yes I know they reinvented themselves into a banking capital). http://www.nytimes.com/2010/02/25/opinion/25brendon.html

I know I know it's the NYT but you can many other supporting documents if you choose.
