High-ranking Republicans are hinting that, after their tax overhaul, the party intends to look at cutting spending on welfare, entitlement programs such as Social Security and Medicare, and other parts of the social safety net.

House Speaker Paul D. Ryan (R-Wis.) said recently that he wants Republicans to focus in 2018 on reducing spending on government programs. Last month, President Trump said welfare reform will “take place right after taxes, very soon, very shortly after taxes.”

As Republicans advocate spending cuts, they have frequently cited a need to reduce the national deficit while growing the economy.

Well one of the biggest sources of welfare is the money we spend on foreign nations to do there work for them. We spend almost 50% of our military budget overseas. Other nations are more than happy to have Uncle Sam spend its money defending them. IF we live in a global marketplace and No One wants to pay the USA for its efforts bring our people overseas home. Let's see how long it takes for companies to start moving there assets back here. Wall Street has spent 30 plus years moving assets overseas and now has $2 trillion in assets in the bank, let them pick up the cost, Uncle Sucker is tired and we can cut $300 billion off the defense spending bills. If they want there assets safe, just build it here, otherwise they can go piss up a tree.

And now the Establishment R's are going after the entitlement programs. You people got conned so hard.....
