The wrinkle is that the republicans do not have 60 votes. They will have to peel off a few democrats and that means the democrats have some say about who is nominated and who is confirmed. Trump does not have a slam dunk here, he will actually have to lobby.

You guys can't read: a simple majority INSTEAD of the 60 votes needed to stop a filibuster. He can make appointments and only needs 51 votes. He does not have to negotiate with the Dems if his party has his back.
