Here are Obama's thoughts on the debt limit in 2006, when he voted against the ceiling:



The fact that we are here today to debate raising America’s debt limit is a sign of leadership failure. It is a sign that the U.S. Government can’t pay its own bills. It is a sign that we now depend on ongoing financial assistance from foreign countries to finance our Government’s reckless fiscal policies. … Increasing America’s debt weakens us domestically and internationally. Leadership means that ‘the buck stops here. Instead, Washington is shifting the burden of bad choices today onto the backs of our children and grandchildren. America has a debt problem and a failure of leadership. Americans deserve better.

He was posturing like every politician does. The debt ceiling increase was a formality then and it is the same now. The debt ceiling will be raised one way or another - the money has already been spent! The real debate must be about jobs - this is all a distraction and a waste of time.

Posturing? He voted no on the increase, screaming it was failed leadership. Since Oduma has been in office he has raised the debt ceiling so many times that I've lost count. If Oduma the hypocrite screams that raising the ceiling on 2006 is failed leadership, what does that say of his own leadership when he's raised it numerous times since taking office??? This, in addition to the lack of jobs are the reasons that polls show his re-election hopes tanking with each passing day.

Oh, of course the Tea Party will sink the economy by advocating for low taxes and reining in spending that is causing the country to go bankrupt. In three years under Obama, we are $4 trillion more in debt. Gee, you should advocate for another Obama economic stimulus jobs bill. You know, the one that costs the tax payers nearly $1 trillion dollars!!!!! Hey, what are the wonderful results of this genius plan??? 9.2% UNEMPLOYMENT!!!!!
