I have a dual Xeon v4 2690, 64gb memory, multiple raid drives, and 2 Nvidia gtx980ti for gpu compute purposes. Best investment in a solid server backend for research and development ever. Not used for any frontend applications. Mine is not for sale.

Why not? Currently have only 1 gpu plugged in as I am working on a change of video cards. Each cpu has access to 2x ECC 16gb via direct lanes for a total of 64gb. Motherboard Supermicro. I don't feel like taking off the cpu coolers just to provide my point on the exact cpu model. You have to take my word for it or disbelieve me. Your choice.
I previously had it enclosed in a Supermicro server workstation case but got issues with cooling due the gpus. I might in the future migrate to a server rack case but for now it stays in the workstation tower.
Edit: my apologies. I just checked the hardware info in my OS and the cpus are v3 2690 not v4. Almost same specs other than the v4 having 2 more cores each. Both draw around 135 Watt under full load.
