Yes, I like to put the stop loss away from the price structure rather than a predefined stop loss or risk per trade. I did this because I did not like get the fake stop out and then price go in my favor.
But there is high risk that comes with this and my stops are bigger because of this.
I have been thinking of using limit orders to enter a position to reduce my risk. Currently I use market order or stop orders to enter the market, because i kinda do not like missing trades because as you know price might not retrace back to that limit order and keep going up or down.
I believe this is where testing comes in to play to see which helps the bottom line for profits long term.
You should try to put your stop away from the action and limit order within 1risk of your stop. Atleast for testing.

Might do the same but always with 2Reward 1Risk in mind.
Because sometimes 4 ticks Stop Loss feels too tight.
