Seeking Alpha abuse ?

OMG!!! I thought I am the only one getting bombarded by their spams. I didn't even buy anything, not even registered on their site. I just read ONE article from their site on my cellphone and now I am getting like 6 emails every day from them it's ridiculous. I have now unsubscribed from everything on their site and let's see if I still get spams from them.

Seeking Alpha's got to be the worst spam offender ever. Usually I get spams from companies that I have at least bought something or put something in my shopping cart and I usually receive just one email per day, not like 5 or 6. Seeking Alpha must not be doing so well if they are this desperate in bombarding people unsolicited like that. It's such a shame; some of their content is actually quite informative. Their articles on VIX and VIX instruments are incredible I thought they are a prestigious financial site.

Then we won't receive their order updates or shipping notifications in our main email. We would have to remember the ten thousand email addresses just for me to get updates on my order. No thanks. I will not waste my time and energy to accommodate unscrupulous spammers. No when they spam, I will just unsubscribe and then block them. You can create rules with wildcard characters and report them if they keep spamming me from different domains.
 
I read that you can divert emails away from your account by adding a dot whatever before the @

For example, your email is johndoe@gmail.com. When asked for your email you enter johndoe.seekingalpha@gmail.com. It will reroute those messages to that sub account and not appear in your primary account. You will also see who else that business is selling your info to by the spam you receive in that sub account.
 
@VicBee it's actually a + sign - it tags the emails with whatever is after the +
eg. john.doe+onemilliondollars@gmail.com will go to your joe.doe account with the tag onemilliondollars.

Not all sites accept the + sign though as a valid email character, which is a pity.
