See Ya Rudy

Quote from hughb:

Neither Clinton nor Edwards have any plan to raise capital gains taxes. both of their planned tax increases apply to income only, and in Hillary's case only to those who earn over $250K per year. Oddly, she has support from women execs who will have a tax increase under her admin. I'm not sure about Obama, but if he had any plans to increase cap gains we would have heard about it.

If Huckabee won the Repub nomination I would vote for whatever Dem opposed him regardless of who it was.

As it stands right now, it looks like anybody who wants to vote Repub in the general election will be voting Mac.

Both of them are against the Bush Tax Cuts and are vowing to discontinue them. The Bush tax cuts included lower cap gains tax.

History speaks for itself. DEMs think that lower cap gains taxes are the ultimate tax cut fo the rich only, and that is the first thing they raise.

Long -Term Cap gains rates
Carter --- just under 50%
Reagan --- fast slide to 20%
Clinton --- 30%
Bush jr. --- 15%

OK that's it for Rudy. He's better off back at his businesses anyway.

Next up - the collapse of Romney.

because that tax increase will hit everybody who has a 401K or IRA invested in the market. (which is just about everybody)

The taxes on 401K's & IRA's are deferred until retirement.
It would only affect those with Roth IRA's or non-retirement plan equity investments.

Quote from Jayford:

A Clinton/Obama ticket would indeed be strong, but they hate each other too much.

You're not thinking like a politician- These are power-junkie whores we're talking about here (especially Hil-Dog), and they'd sell out their own mothers for a fix!

(Edit: Yes, Ratboy- I do realize the irony of my statement above. At least my type of junkie is a thousands times less dangerous than their kind. You know it's true.)

LOL... rearden.. i have to re-think my whole perspective on that. if i am on the same side of an issue as ZZZzzzzz, maybe i am wrong. i need to re-visit that dynamic. (also listening to Ron Paul on the issue has me reconsidering it)

agreed about construction pay levels.

i think religion will become more important regarding romney. its odd that his favorite novel is battlestar galactica written by scientology founder hubbard. i think cults may become a topic if romney gets the nomination.

Battlefield Earth is a sci-fi satire. It's nothing to do with religion, it's just a regular send-up novel, kinda like a sci-fi version of Blazing Saddles for westerns.
