Sector comparison ratios?

I often look at the ratio of the Consumer Discretionary vs Consumer Staples ratio to judge turning points in the equity markets, but I'm wondering if there are other sector comparisons I can make?

Can anyone suggest rations of this nature which are useful for determining changes in market sentiment/relative strength between sectors?

What do I look up when looking for this kind of information?

Yes, I think it's a very good idea.

Here's a simple chart of Consumer Discretionary vs. Consumer Staples

At a much higher level, it pays to keep in mind what the total game board covers.
And at inflection points as were are at now, watch the commodities (CRB Index)
This charts is 1956 to now.
Shows the $CRB divided by $SPX
So, it's a measure of performance.

Actually you did answer my question so I deleted my reply earlier. I misread your response.
That's a good tip (comparing commode with Spx) I'll take note of that one for sure.

Those kinds of relationships are what I'm looking for. Comparisons like that provide a powerful way of looking at the markets.
