A management resignation would tend to suggest that.
She took the bullet for others on her staff who didn't do their jobs. Thus, instead of having a lot of people fired and losing their pensions...
She decided to be the only one to resign (not fired) to protect others because she was the Chief (top dog).
I think it's strange that she refused to answer some of the questions and did not bring the documents the committee had requested for her to bring. One person on the committee said to her
"You're full of shit".
Wow.
To be fair, there's a reason why they're called the
Secret Service...they do not and will not disclose "publicly" how they do their job.
In contrast, if it was a closed hearing with the committee...I'm sure they would have answered the questions and provided the data to the committee especially questions involving the communication technology they used in protecting a U.S. President.
Simply, you do not want that shit known to the public because it will enable other future assassins with the ability to navigate around that communication technology.
Once again, the Secret Service fucked up, local law enforcement fucked up, and Trump's campaign organizers fucked up too because they arranged the layout (e.g. positioning of the stage) so close to buildings that had a higher line of site and so close to that damn water tower that had nobody up there with the so called "communication technology" overlooking everything at the rally.
I would have
fired every Secret Service persons that was there, every law enforcement that was there and all the campaign organizers that arranged that stage area so damn close to buildings and a water tower that had an advantage for a possible assassin.
I don't like Trump and he's rightfully a convicted felon 34x. Yet, no former U.S. President or sitting U.S. President should be poorly protected like that day in Butler, Pennsylvania.
The optics stink and could send a message to our enemies abroad that they could do the same to take out a U.S. President or former U.S. President.
We should be able to disagree with our political views
without being assassinated, assaulted, threatened including the same of our family members.
That committee needs to ask the tough questions to ensure there was no plot, no inner circle involved so that Secret Service can properly protect a U.S. President going forward.
