The guy has connections to Ukraine and it should be investigated. I didn't say they were behind it for sure. I'm pointing to his connections with them and the fact that Ukraine clearly has a motive. Completing ignoring this would be negligence.

Well, it is an obvious vantage point, but that's not my real question about this guy. I'm wondering how, on an apparently limited budget, he gets around so easily and quickly? He seems to have good Intel as well. Now, being a nut, probably obsessive/compulsive, he is scouring the net for as much info as he can day and night, so that may explain his foreknowledge of events relatively unknown to the average Joe. Why would the average Joe give a shit about Trumps schedule, but a would be assassin...he'd know details.
You made reference to Trumps poor judgment and need to be in the limelight even if that puts him in danger. Yes, that's reckless on his part, but his security detail needs to and should accommodate for that. Both of these wanna be assassins got way to close, security was poor and only dumb luck kept them from total failure of keeping Trump safe. I'm sure the pros are watching and learning. These attempts will not stop, and if he's elected will probably increase.
Yes, Trump is his own worst enemy, but they got a job to do and so far it's been sloppy and they've been lucky. That won't hold up forever.

I see it like this, they caught him as part of their normal operation because they knew to scout the not-a-secret paparazzi areas as a matter of routine.
Trump's movements are predictable.
They caught him, and so they were actually successful. Elon has 30+ security guards and a medical staff (just to mention).
I have ballistic material in the doors of my car and laminated windows (not heavy duty but enough for small arms). That's just normal for a wealthy person living in Medellin or Bogota. At least was when I got here. Trump didn't have ballistic glass around him at the outdoor rally because he didn't want it*, not because carrying a few panels is a big deal.
There was no possible way that over the years the SS did not throw tantrums about there being multiple areas, on relatively flat land, with oversight of players.
So Trump being the landowner stopped them putting up geofabric or other screens. He is very sensitive about the look of things.

Maybe he is suicidal. I mean there's a lot more historical milage in being a martyr than a half assed game show host and so so president. Who knows what drives these kind of people.
