It was a SPY ship. Somehow I doubt that high tech spy ships look like high tech spy ships. Also, while it's true that Arab countries are incapable of manufacturing anything resembling quality merchandise, Egypt's military was well supplied with modern Soviet warcraft. Regarding identification, one might argue that this ship should've had a statue of liberty mounted on it's deck so it could be identified as american, but the fact that the israelis shot and sunk two of the unarmed rescue vessels might indicate that this was not an accident ("Ooops, I did it again").

As to the 2 pilot´s names, they are not mentioned. You're right, especially in such a delicate matter, only proven facts should be considered.

Well, and with regards to your shoplifting example:
a roman proverb goes like "The outcome jugdes the deed". As far as I understood it, the israelis only stopped firing when the liberty reached international waters.

Again, was a group of Jews the only ethnic group to short these 38 stocks? And were these 38 stocks the only ones they shorted?

Why is it irresponsible? If it is false, then the truth and arguments like yours will make it so.

If it is true, then it is certainly not irresponsible.

There will be people that will use this to motivate their "anger" them towards Jews. But those people were/are already beyond help.

Perhaps because I am not Jewish, I do not see all the bad things that can come from making this post...and in a way it is insentitive, but EVERY statement is insensitive to SOMEONE? Believe me, it is not my intent to hurt anyone. But I do not put any act beyond any group of people, especially if they think that their very existence is threatened.

But someone made a statement, and in particular it was a foreign source, whos is also a friend of the US. During the IRAQ war I tried to watch the International news sources for some perspective. I do not want a one sided view of things.

I have found that this site often has interesting insight into events like this. I feel that I am reasonably capable of seperating who are the ones that are simply partial, from those that make an impassioned attempt at the truth. I had hoped others would be as well...
