"In the old days Investment banks were proud and reputable institutions"...what a bucket of crap. Are those senators TOTALLY delusional? Are they REALLY representing the American people???
Quote from wmb:
As much as I agree with the above mentioned statement the funds distributed to GS is the reason for all this nonsense!
TARP funds: $10 billion plus
AIG securities lending unit: $4.6 billion
Maiden Lane III: $5.8 billion
AIG collateral: $2.5 billion
Total: $22.9 billion plus
money given out to GS
Quote from asiaprop:
bla bla same old...
Quote from wmb:
WTF does that mean.....GS "borrows" 22billion, AIG tanks, Bear STearns, Lehman, Citi bank, Merril lynch, all need to be bailed out and the u.s wants to investigate this frickin nonsense because of all the BS these "investment banks" got mixed up in and your final response after listening to the opening statements is "how is this representing the American people" WTF
I'll give you same ole same ole... no one gives a shit about the american people including you! There in lies the problem.
Quote from asiaprop:
i tell you a secret (but dont tell anyone): Other main contributors (aside the ibanks) to this crisis were the American people themselves, the US government, rating agencies, various mortgage market related companies. If you dont understand this then you wanna reflect a little more on this whole thing.
It was not all about the ibanks and I think its very understandable that they vigorously try to make this point.
And maybe you should get one thing straight: Its was the VERY SAME people who represent you, whom YOU elected, who authorized bailout moneys to AIG and co, not any Jewish plot, some evil banks, or anybody else, but YOUR electorate.
Quote from wmb:
No kidding!! Who is complaining about what! This all has to be exam ined and some are examing this nonsense. Is your suggestion to just let the status quo be? My suggestion is to examine those that are left and those who are in office. Massuchucets, Florida, California, New York, and Ill need ot examine who they are elcting to office!
Additionally, it was "elected electorate that authorized bailout money" is a misnomer. Hank paulsen ,Rubin, and all the other Goldman Sacs alumni within the federal government including the Treasury and the ny FED are appointed! These appointments are the problem and the reason for this thread.
Quote from asiaprop:
sorry but I dont let you pass with this nonsense. Tarp and most of the bailout has been voted for by a broad number of members in congress and senate, NOT by a few boys in GS, the Fed, or the Admin. Dont twist the truth!!!
Quote from wmb:
HAHA well I guess you wouldnt let the Dems say they didnt approve the funds for the iraq war? The advisors said we need to do this and congress agreed! For both scenarios, Iraq and TARP, but who would have said no to PAulsen when he said" Jeez, we are in a really really tight spot here, you need to act now, not later now, today!"
