The finance degree from wharton only gets you in the door. the lack of a degree from a prestigious school usually holds the door shut. the people hiring traders for the big banks dont hire just on a degree they arent stupid. using college degrees as a filter helps weed out people like stock_trad3r et. al.

I can understand she wouldn't want to be doing that merchant banking gig. Yeah being paid in Euros is great given the present exchange rates but damn those hours and the sacrifice. Even for a few years it would be stupid to take it really. Life in your 20s to your mid 30s are some of the best times of your life if you still remain single and living it up. Better to take a trading gig than take some banking gig any day really. But FXCM? Best bet in her case was to stay put at SMB. Also her parents are to blame since they contributed to this nonsense of her jumping around.

I would not give a Wharton or Harvard grad money to trade based on their degree alone. Degrees mean shit in trading pardon my french...What is your point exactly?
