searching for list of NYSE, NASDAQ stocks

for any given year.

for example if I want to do backtesting on a todays list I will not have LEH and others that went away through the years.

I would ideally like to get in text (comma or line delimited) the lists for each year from about 1995 and beyond. Having a set date like all stocks on the exchange on Jan 1st would be perfect.

Any help would be great thank you
 
I have also looked for stock list for major exchanges, but were unable to do so. I was able to compile a list from info on internet. It is not complete, but has most of them.

I you go to my site http://sites.google.com/site/testmytrades/ and install the application in the application folder you will find a comma delimited list of stocks. I know it is not exactly what you are looking for but it is a start.

If you ever find a complete list please let me know.
