2) No QB over 6'5" has made the HOF either. So what does that mean?

3) You're right he's not Cam Newton. Wilson is much much better.
 
When Brees gets in it will be interesting, since he's listed at 6'0 but everyone knows he's closer to 5'11

Good point about Brees.

Also, hand size is more important than height.

The knock on Alex Smith before the draft was that he had small hands for a pro QB. He rarely throws the ball outside the hash marks farther than 10 yards downfield because he can't "grip and rip" a pro ball like he could a smaller college ball.

Wilson on the other hand (no pun intended) looks like a mythical creature. He's 5'10 and 5/8 but his hands look like they belong on Shaquille O'neill. They measured 10 and 1/4 inches at the combine. Fourth largest among all QB's (larger than 6'7" Brock Osweiller).
Wilson can fire the pro ball strong and accurately.

Doesn't matter his accuracy when he can't see his receivers over his own offensive line! In the "pocket" he's toast, he must scat to right sideline to put an eye on his receivers. Every defense knows this and he's owned

+1 what a joke. ignoring vegas, to even heavily biased nfl fans Denver had to be the hands down fav in the AFC coming into this season. And if you had any doubt about the seahawks going places, it should have been wiped away after week 3. I say this as a life-long 9ers fan.

That said the 9ers are due for some payback in seattle.. should be a brutal, old school gridiron game on sunday (i hope anyway). And while you all argue over QBs, just remember this is truly a team sport and one guy can't do it all. panthers, 9ers and seahawks are all built the same way.. none of them revolve around a traditional pocket passer and they were the top 3 teams in the much more competitive NFC this year.

How do they measure hands, is it from tip of thumb to tip of pinky with fingers spread ?
Just looked it up, that's the way it's done.
I read an article on Manziel and he has the same size hands 10 1/4 and a size 15 shoe.

The average height of the last QB's to attempt 1000 passes (214 of them) is 74.6 inches, or just over 6’2”.

The AVERAGE height of an NFL lineman is 6'5".

So that means 95% of NFL QB's can't see over their lineman!!!

Stop making such a big deal about it.

it's like this guy doesn't understand that they drop back to pass. lol. even a short q like doug flutie could just take and extra couple of steps back and see the field. Height is definitely an advantage for a QB because there are certain routes, like slants, where u have to be able to release the ball after a 3 step drop, but it is far from the be all, end all of what makes up a good QB. I would rather have Brees as my QB than blaine gabbert, Josh freeman (aka lenny kravitz) or overpaid joe flacco .. how about you OP?
