In all of your posts I have never found a real good description of how you trade 'laterals'. Spyder also did not completely address laterals. When you think of SCT trading, laterals become very important.

What are you looking or while trading SCT when you see a lateral form?

Just wait for the lateral to terminate with a close outside the lateral?

Thanks for your wishes. I'm finally being "Rolfed" on a 5 day schedule with osteopathic work and relaxing massages weekly. My daily protein intake has ben increased from 40 to 65gms to aid the new body tissue formation. My Rolf'er calls each evening to help us make best use of the moment. I take salt bathes before retiring.

As for laterals, I feel they are best processed in ET when an active thread is going on for trading.

A lat is an internal and is three bars whereby the last two do NOT permit measurement of volume.

the shadow must contain all parts of bars 2 and 3.

From this point on, the lateral's continuation is just determined by subsequent bar closes. The close must be in the shadow. IN means = is included.

On bar 4 a "retro" measuring of volume is done. EVERY bar is measured until the lat BO. and the BO is processed as usual.

NO rtl's may be started within laterals. BM's are always used in laterals. these are both pragmatic rules I learned through forward testing over time as iterative refinement.

By doing all of the above, this keeps the four types of trends empowered and the turn's frequency humming along.

Hope this nuance helps. Thins are not much different without it since no major upheavals happen in lats.

Sounds like too low. Do you only weigh 100 pounds? The rest of your macronutrients is 80% saturated fat and few % of carbs I suppose. In addition new body tissues will be formed when you give your body the stimulus to do so. Not while marinating yourself in a salt bath.

Different strokes for different folks. I'm more or less oriented to a low fat diet.

both are lats.

in the log the top one is sym >>>lat 3

and the bottom one is FBP>>>lat 3

No volume measurements are made for bars 2 and 3.

If another lat occurs (lat4) then you go back and measure all bars bar by bar. As the lateral grows longer, you are keeping track of any sentiment reversals within the lat from lat 4 onward.

The lateral is a container and nothing big in money making can occur within the lat.

The FOMC announcement last week (17SEP14) was such a time right up to the three news swings.
By doing the above and knowing how news works you traded the swings and at least doubled your capital in a matter of less than ten five minute bars.

Thanks for the chart llIHeroic. It's nice to read positive comments about Jack's methodology--there's been a dearth of those on ET lately.

Too bad this thread lost many valuable attachments as a result the recent ET "upgrade". Repeated requests for the restoration of these attachments have gone unfulfilled.

Okay, just jumping into this thread. I have read the last 28 pages and I have a few questions. But first I was hoping you guys could help me something. I cannot see any of the attachments other than the one from lllHeroic and peaspipe on this page. Have they been removed or am I missing something? I'm running the latest version of chrome but I also tried on firefox, and on my ipad osx. Thanks in advance for your consideration. Also, I hope your health gets better Jack.

Okay just read your last post river. I formulated my previous post before updating my browser with your comment. Does anyone on this thread have access to the aforementioned posts with attachments? Trying to follow the whole thread with zero images is a bit tough. I have no clue if I am even on the right track.
