Screening underlyings for options plays

How are you guys going about screening for underlyings for applying options strategies?

Do you have your favorite strategy and then use screens to find setups for that strategy?

Or do you have favorite stock(s) that you exclusively follow and just apply whatever strategy makes sense at the time given volatility etc. ?

What types of screens are you using 200MA, volume, volitility, etc?

I'm specifically looking at the screen tool provided by finviz, and the filters on the technical tab?

Thanks for your replies.

FYI I'm a newb

Yes on both questions.

Build your own screeners. Using someone else's will not give you good results.

Everyone has the same data. It's how you interpret it that matters.

I would start with screening for stocks that have had large vol moves on the day, then look for option trades in those names. After that you can add more parameters to refine your results.
