Has anybody since Washington ever had to be dragged into the Presidency? No.

Didn't Romney have about a dozen competitors who were all glad to relieve him of the burden of being the GOP nominee? Yes.

Hero? Can we lower the bar any further for hero status? Pretty soon getting out of bed and showing up for work will be considered heroic.
The guy saw an opportunity and took it. That makes him an opportunist, not a hero.
Romney defeated himself by being spineless. Simple as that.
