Scientists warn of 'superspreaders' as San Diego flocks to restaurants, salons

As testing goes up we should find will find more virus.
The best measure we have is percent positive its not perfect but it better than getting worried about an uptick when testing doubled in 3 weeks.

I talked about this on these threads long before Trump and you know it.

The Trump concept that more testing leads to more cases is an absurd fallacy. Clearly the increased number of cases in San Diego goes statistically well beyond being merely correlated to the expanded number of tests.

The percentage of positive tests is meaningless in light of the increase in cases & other statistics.

that is not a fact at all.

40% of group of those sailors did not test positive for antibodies at that time.

That does not mean 40% of those sailors can't ever get antibodies in the future. And, is certainly does not mean 40% of everyone can not get antibodies.

are you a moron or a liar?

Go look up the facts. 40% of those infected do not develop anti-bodies. The immunity to COVID-19 appears to only last for 2 to 3 months for those who do develop anti-bodies. "Natural Herd Immunity" is a farce. A vaccine is needed to develop any type of herd immunity to COVID-19.

40% of the sailors who tested positive for COVID and then were tested MULTIPLE times for anti-bodies never developed anti-bodies. You really should go read the study in detail.

I read the study asshole. I corrected your lie when you were pretending the study told us natural herd immunity is a myth... I gave you a quotes from the study... and then when you lied again and said it was out of context I gave you the same point from the summary of the report from the CDC.

Why do you lie and bullshit about everything Covid on every thead?

What if the a sailor in that study gets Covid again next month?
Are you saying he or she can't get Covid again and develop antibodies? .

You really should learn to think.

So. once again you miss the point.
The point of this short thread was to keep track of what happens in San Diego since the reopening.

2. While I was looking at the uptick in cases since the reopening as a comparison to San Diego itself before the opening. Its not really about cases. Many times I have told you I do not care about cases... we are all going to get exposed to it if we are not planning to hide until a vaccine. Its about managing hospital beds and avoiding deaths going forward.

3. By the way... every city is different with a different population. So I would not be comparing SD to Toronto without knowing both cities well. I would also want to know how many old folks died before the shutdown because in many cities in the world... that is where the major problem happened.

So... to make yourself would you like to compare and contrast the reasons why Toronto has 3 times as many deaths as San Diego?

Is your population older?

81% of all virus related deaths in Canada are in long term care homes. It has been identified as a major weakness in our system ( majority were privately run ). I would also note that Toronto is more of an international destination then San Diego, tons of immigrant familes with extended families in Asia and elsewhere.

My point is you are getting far more cases now then we are, despite these factors. I would suggest to you this speaks directly to the attitude of the public to the virus, how seriously precautions are taken. One may ask do you wear a mask in public settings for example. You say you don't care about the cases well that's part of the problem imo.

Natural herd immunity for COVID-19 is a myth. It is very obvious now.

If antibodies are short term and there are no other mechanisms in play... then it does not bode well for natural herd immunity and it will make vaccine immunity difficult as well.

However, I will wait for the science and data before I conclude whether a vaccine will work or if natural immunity will work.

The rolling 14 day average made another drop. 2.54% of tests are positive. A significant drop in just a few weeks. How long can this keep dropping like this... we told by doomers we are all so irresponsible?

I do expect a spike in this stat... because that is what the doomers and "experts" tell me. And, I do believe this virus is very contagious. (or at least it was.)

see for yourself...
