dude, lets go over some things. You posted this article and quoted it in your post. You obviously feel that there is something important within this trash. There is no substance, just the opinions of 'leading' scientists, business men etc.
All it basically says is that the world has problems, whoa.. genius fucking insight. It is no longer just about climate change, because after several setbacks (fudging numbers) that "movement" has lost some steam. So now these blowjobs are including economic and social issues in their "studies". Who the fuck are these people? Why is their opinion on social issues any better than mine? What does this shit have to do with the climate? And the best part of the article is the "issue of governance, existing international arrangements are not dealing quickly enough with current global challenges such as climate change and biodiversity loss". Is this serious? Do these idiots really think have some say as to how we are going to live our lives? They don't even know if CO2 lags or leads temp in 'predicting' climate change and now they are going to solve all the worlds ills.. they are seeking what, global governance? LOL
These assholes will never have any say as to how we live in the US, I guarantee you that. This whole article is based on self importance under the guise of saving the planet, like the UN sec gen having a speech ready to congratulate them (for what?) that said "this couldn't have come at a better time". This is nauseatingly weak and phony self gratification. How can anyone really, objectively take these hacks seriously? this is a religion, not science. The radical change that would have to happen just to stop, let alone do the truly necessary thing, which is to proactively reverse the damage already done, is simply impossible for human beings to grasp.
They say animals don't have a concept of their own mortality. The human race, overall, believes itself invulnerable. That strange diseases that no one heard of a few years ago are suddenly popping up makes no impression. They still think they're invulnerable, and that their children and grandchildren will live just the same way they have.
We know that's impossible. But you can't convince guys like this. And there's enough of them to stop anything at all from happening. So just live and enjoy. Nothing else you can do.

The Earth started out as a molten ball of rock and metal, it formed a poisonous, extremely hot atmosphere and over millions and billions of years it formed life, culminating in humanity. It has been through much worse than what we are doing now and it is folly to believe/suggest otherwise. We can't destroy this planet even though that is eventually its fate. Everything eventually "dies", and whether it is caused by the explosion of a star, or a collision with another celestial body, or a fuckin attack by the death star, it is going to happen.
Do you really expect civilization as we know it, to tear itself down, to devolve, just because a cult of scientists "predict" that at some uncertain point in the future we are going to do irreparable harm to the Earth and kill ourselves? Seriously is that what you expect? why don't we just commit mass suicide now then to save the poow yittle planet?

Listen carefully now to what I'm saying: the Mauna Loa records show that all the measures taken so far have had no effect. As that is the case, there is no reason to think levels in 2100 will be less than the IPCC projection. At those levels, given cool ocean temps, relatively, you get the effects in the cited article. But of course those temps aren't what's going to prevail at 700 ppm or higher of CO2.
Now, given your juvenile response, which is the same response most people would give, the chance that levels in 2100 will be any less, given the extraordinary measures that would have to be taken to keep them from getting there, is very low. That isn't because it's inevitable: it's because people like you are too stupid to understand what's going on.
I'm sure you didn't get the rest, but I'm quite certain you got that last sentence.
I'd like to add that although the measures taken so far have not changed the rate of CO2 increase, we really haven't taken any serious measures yet. It's been akin to using non-sugar substitute in your coffee and expecting to lose weight.
And how many people even know about the acidifcation? I'd bet fewer than 1 in 20 people have even heard of it.
