Better than the worthless chatter that comes out of your mouth on a daily basis such as "who cares about this or that economic news release, as long as it drives up volatility". I tell you who cares: those who actually make money deciphering shifts in economic sentiment.
I conflated nothing. The original statement I responded to is nonsense, either way. Most market making and even hft strategies on the opposite side of the holding period spectrum of investing equally perform better at low, stable volatilites. Only uninformed retail punters believe they need elevated volatilites to perform well. Truth be told, the only thing high volatility does to their accounts is to wreck the same faster.
