Science Advancements on trading

Quote from OddTrader:

How many times (what's the time frame/ interval) of prediction during the day? TIA.

TIA, the predictions are computed at 10:15 to generate the trades for the complete day. Then, the charts are recomputed every 15min to deal with the arrival of news, but the trades are never changed during the day.

William, they use a stop loss of the same size as the target points. I think this is a bit naive. There are much better stop loss techniques.

With this strategy the posted trades at 10:15 produced more than 1000 points of the DJIA since march, and 284 points of the NASDAQ in the same period, without leverage.

I've checked that the trades are indeed respected: they publish them al 10:15 and evaluate them after 4PM, but evaluations are performed using the index, and not using the YM or the NQ.

How many trades per day for each market?

Trading as science is more akin to the social sciences such as psychology, sociology and economics, rather than the physical sciences such as physics and chemistry because the study of security prices can not be separated from the study of human behavior. It would be a mistake to conclude that trading can be made an exact science just because there are numbers involved. I think the most relevant field of study would be Behavioral Finance.

I think the market will go where it will go (extremes) despite how well we place our stop... :(

Whether The Prediction Company has been changed to mainly a market making operation?

Looks like PredictionLab according to TradingPro's current progress would still have a long long way to go in the Prediction business. :D

Hey santi,

Did you ever trade in your life? Don't you know you pay both way commissions? (Funny science) :D

In 294 trades they earned 284 points.
1 point of the NQ is 20 dollars.
If you have commisions of 3.5 dollars per RT, you have to substract 51.45 points. You keep 284-52, 232 points for your pocket.

Hi OddTrader, '

Could you please give more details on why you’ve stated the following? I've tested their technology, and so far the returns have been really good.

Thanks,
