School Project on Probabilities

A nice project would be to show how simple binomial trees can come up with good estimates for the price of short maturity options on stocks.

You don't need anything more than the math necessary to figure out coin flips.

Simple, effective and practical.
 
the kid is in high school and probably not as into it than the original poster. Something simple like backgammon or a parimutuel betting system would be easy to do and get info on.
