Backtesting is pointless because it tests the PAST, not the FUTURE!

I certainly did, which is why I have not been able to ride this nice NQ ride north. I am still underwater on the MES trade. Based on what I saw in the past, and the shit I did? No sir. Need to let the bull flesh itself out. We need Powell to say we are in pause mode. Then the bull can continue unabated.

lol, I did not prove back test is worthless.
I like to use back testing software and will continue to do so.
Using common sense.
Think about that statement carefully.
Everyone sees something differently.
Al Brooks might describe his methods, but only a very small population of traders will relate to it. (I'm no fan of Brooks).
YOU need to design your own system and only you can do it with your brain.
SLM, you have obviously been trading for some years, now it's time to discard all further reading of trading books, now it's time for you just by yourself and your imagination determining how you want to trade, how you make sense of squiggly price action.
Write it all down, what you know works and doesn't work, then like a jigsaw puzzle, over months or years, begin putting it together.
You like to backtest and will continue to do so. Will it help you make money on your live account? If so, more power to you!
