Scalping

Here is a classic example of the misuse of the word "scalp".

Let me tell you the secret. Trade ES only when VIX is above 15. Higher the better

ES right now only 11

Currently CL and GC are the only good markets to scalp since they have very good trends.

Right now, CL VIX is 25 and GC VIX is 14, but GC miners VIX is 36 so GC still counts.

Good luck!

Scalping in Forex refer to a trading style, which is usually very short-term oriented. Moreover, a big number of professional traders utilize this technique. As a fact, scalping is the shortest term style, when it comes to trading in Forex. The name of the style suggests that the trader is attempting to make many small profits during the trading day.

That wasn't a very good paragraph when it was originally published here, and it hasn't improved any by being pasted in to the forum, unaccredited, as a "forum-post" of "your own".

I suggest that you stop doing that: it won't enhance your credibility at all - more likely the exact opposite.

Right the original poster on that other site got it wrong and they doubled down.

This is what happens, though, with people naive enough to steal text from the web and paste it in here as a "forum-post" of "their own", trying to look as if they know something: they tend to be the exact same ones who are too stupid to judge whether or not it ever made any sense in the first place. :D

I agree.

There are many technically perfectly correct replies above, slightly dissenting from the OP's statement, but my perspective is instinctively fully with him, on this occasion: the forum is full of people misusing the word "scalping" (some even to the extent of discussing "scalping from 4-hour charts" and all this kind of nonsense).

It's highly unusual for retail traders to be scalping, and even though (as mentioned above) it's technically possible, these days, we all know perfectly well that the reality is that whenever the term's used here in a "retail trader" context, there's at least a 90% chance that it's being misused.
