Now imagine if he actually had the account to buy 10000 shares around $30 instead of 100 calls. The original trade lost him merely $5000. If he had bought 10000 shares (or 5000 shares to represent 50 delta) to get the same exposure, he would have lost between $200k (or $100k).

So in actuality, good trade doing it with options.
