Sarah Silverman on Paris Hilton

Look, GW is always saying they hate us for our freedom=translation, our culture.

Paris Hilton represents the worst of our culture.

Not the product of a ghetto, but the product of being spoiled.

Now, if you actually read the thread, it was Mav who was harping on the book deals, etc.

I am glad she got busted, glad she is going back to jail, glad she is caught crying like a spoiled little brat...

Our country is obsessed with celebrity, which just demonstrates how vapid and shallow we have become.

That's what they hate us for...

Quote from TM_Direct:

as usual you have to find some way to bring GW into this....Do you really think she needs book sales? her last name is Hilton...shes got an estimated 500 million coming to her..

And as i have said before, i have no problem with that provided its like that for every one....but this is absurd....and i think letting her walk after a day and under these circumstances is also absurd....there's only one solution:

TAKE THE CAMERA'S OUT OF THE COURT ROOM!!!

the judges can't handle the sudden fame and publicity either and become whores for the media...the OJ Case, MJ, Robert Falk, Anna Nicole.....its too much for these lower lever guys to handle

Glad she got busted? I am sure you have been a perfect little boy
your whole life huh?

The whole country is obsessed with celebrity? Right... Maybe where
you come from.

And you love Muslims because they hate us because of Paris, Brittany
and Lindsay, ect.

You must be a pretty lonely old man. And weak because we are
blowing the shit out of terrorists in Afghanistan and Iraq and you
can not handle it.

Vote for Hillary and you will be happy. Let her rule over you like a wimp.

Check the Neilson ratings for the whole country of the E channel, Entertainment tonight, sales of celebrity rags in grocery stores etc...

Maybe you really are that dumb...

"And you love Muslims because they hate us because of Paris, Brittany
and Lindsay, ect.

You are not sane.

Disagree.

Unless there is something that is not the right of a citizen to view, then allow them. If the citizens have the right to view transcripts of trial, they have the right to view them.

Courtrooms should not be closed to the public, in any manner (as long as it is a criminal proceeding) unless the testimony is in some way a threat to national security, or prevents a witness from testifying, etc.

A grand jury is a different story.

Look, athletes have to perform in front of a crowd, politicians, etc. Lots of athletes are dumb as spit, but they can still do their job.

No reason that judges and attorney's cannot also perform their function properly in front of the camera professionally....

If anything, the camera will reveal incompetent judges, prosecutors, and defense attorneys.

If we elect presidents on how well they do in front of the camera at debates, then closing a courtroom to the public viewing makes zero sense.

I think tm may be correct about taking the cameras out of the courtroom.

fair enough but I am also concerned about the tax dollars being wasted on these longer trials.

We waste tax money in places that don't give citizens the right to be informed about the nature and practices justice system.

Seriously, look at Court TV. All that came from the O.J. trial.

It is both good and bad, which is generally the way things go that impact the general public.

The public having greater knowledge of our court system, the good and the bad, is part of an open society.

Really jem, there are more important things to worry about when it comes to tax dollars than the cost of public viewing of trials.

Legalize drugs, the tax on drugs will solve all the problems...
