They will/would rag on her 24/7 but that's fine. Palin would immediately get in some high profile cat fights with AOC types which would have some entertainment value for sure.
I am not a Palin fan but it is a seat that is open and at least she does not hate the country as the dems do.
Hard to predict. The final election is in August and Alaska has just introduced ranked-balloting so there is not much experience in seeing how these things play out. Ranked balloting - for those not familiar- lets you vote for your first and second choices and if no one gets a majority on the first ballot then you add in peoples second choice votes to see if you get a majority that way. Or some version of that, depending on the state.
It's complicated. She has a lot of baggage in Alaska. On the other hand in the first round (where she appears to be in the top four) there are 48 candidates and she has the most name recognition- which works against her in some instances too. I can not see her taking an outright majority in August, but I can see her getting lots of votes but short of a majority but then getting lots of second choice votes too to put her over the top.
At least that is the scenario that would get her there. Yeh, she has baggage. But aside from Santa Claus (a real person living in North Pole, AK who changed his name legally to Santa Claus and is on the ballot, and not as a write-in) there is not much interest in the other candidates either.
Lefties, it is not too soon to start being outraged and triggered. Because I am a giver, I wanted to give you a headstart. As I said, I am not a Palin fan either but if it triggers you then that will help me to deal with it. I have to have some fun, eh.
(just as an fyi, the previous congressman died, so this is an august election to fill that position, not a november regular election. It is just to finish the term until January, so I guess these clowns will need to run now and then again for Nov. Crazy stuff.)
