Everyone pays the same tax rate on income, same exemptions. Santorum is a snake. I wouldn't trust that guy.

If I bought a house for 100k and sold it for 160k and bought a new house for 220k how much do I owe? Does the fair flat tax require that I pay taxes on the 60k profit from the first house?
I made 500k trading and bought a restaurant for 320k. The first year the restaurant was making money so I took the profits and bought some raw land in New Zealand. The restaurant went broke, but I am raising sheep on the land in New Zealand and it is starting to be profitable. How much tax do I owe? According to my calculations I owe no tax. It's not like the IRS can come after me, since Santorum, they don't exist anymore.

Under the current system, the Lawyers do (aka politicians). Thats why they love an opaque tax code - exemptions can be sold to donors and given out to curry votes. I say fuck all the exemptions. No exemptions. Everyone pays. Make it simple. We allow some exemptions, it's the camels nose under the tent. In ten years, there's an exemption for every industry lobby group and every one else gets fucked. Same as it is now. System can't be pay-for-exemption. It's gotta be aportioned like the Founders said - everyone pays the same rate. Fuck them all.
