Santa Clause Rally=Much Higher=More Records

Quote from hels02:

Um... the index gains stink compared to some stock gains. I do buy indexes, but not in a bull market like this one. Consider how easy it is to get a $1-$2 move on some stocks almost every day (DVN, GG, EFUT, GROW are some of my favs).

For example, you're spending $30-$70 for that $1. So every $1 move you gain 3% on your money in a $30 stock. What's a $1 move on one of the indexes and what did you spend on it? I mean today, you'll probably make $1 on the QQQQ, but how often does that happen?

In other words, from a % gain standpoint, when it's a bull market, it just makes no sense to play indexes if you are fairly confident... or just lucky:).

Agree here Hels. I do the opposite of Eqttrader. I go long individuals stocks and short some ETFs to hedge my long when the markets reach certain points of low return. Not there yet, so I am 100% long right now. No hedge.

I love how just a few weeks ago you said you were never trading index futures ever again, you traded soybeans now. You better get your story straight. :)

Show me were I said never again, I did say after I road it up from 11300 to 12000 and cashed out I was going to wait and not buy.

But I am not stupid, you see that market is talking and I am listening, you should try it some time, then you will be a professional like me.

Thanks for that laugh. You are a funny guy. But definitely not a professional trader. :p

This whole thread is great entertainment. One guy says the mkt is way too rich...cant wait to short. Then nothing. Then mkt goes up and he's long. Then we have a pullback...gets quiet around here. Thats the great thing about fantasy trading on a chat board...if you are wrong...just keep quiet until the mkt goes your way. This place makes for great lunchtime entertainment.

I enjoy these two...are a riot...but I highly doubt they are trading any kind of serious money.

Werent you the guy who was trading a small account from home? Not sure if that qualifies as a professional. I could be wrong........
