San Diego cash strapped...sell their police horses at auction

So how well do these police horses compete with the avg. racing horses? When will San Diego start auctioning midgets, I need to buy them in 1 set.

I got an uneasy feeling that these horses are also donut munching monsters, like the boys in blue. :D
 
The question as to how these leaders are elected has already been answered in this thread. i.e. Government workers voting en masse to continue the status quo of strong unions with guaranteed pensions and health care for life. The more government employees added, the more these people will vote themselves a life of perpetual comfort at the hands of the private sector. It's really a numbers game and these pols are very good at simply encouraging their own to vote and vote often.
 
The City would make more money BBQ'ing the horses, holding a fund raising dinner, and taking donations. Those who contribute the most to the City for their Horsey BBQ sammich would be awarded a saddle to hang on their wall.

Funny thing it is a known fact that a horse and ride or an officer and dog have the ability to manage crowd control much easier and safer.

I am sure their is one or two civil servants who could take early retirement and that should exceed the savings.
 
The more I see of the problems in the US and my country England the more a bloodless military coup looks attractive.

Let the Army takeover for 5 years, let them sort the mess out for the long term without having to kotow to any vested interests and then have traditional elections after their 5 years is up.

Sound far fetched? Not from where I'm sitting (in England) and see just how pissed off so many Americans really are. And I'm talking about the average 'good Americans' here, the backbone of the country and not the money-grubbing big business/big government mob who frankly remind me more and more of a sick circus act.
 
Maybe little Eire can show the big boys the way.

Cut 10% off all state employees salaries, pensions, welfare, public works etc. etc.

Personally I would put the bastards on the minimum wage until THEIR mess is cleared up !!

For the life of me, I cannot figure out what either country is trying to accomplish. I thought the US had unique problems but England seems to be facing similiar situations maybe at a different pace.

What worked and what we believed, no one seems to want to preserve this. The US is looking run down and tired (ideas and infrastructure) and that which is new is disposable.

Perhaps history is for chumps.

Well for a start make the Governor, the leader of the party of the largest number of elected delegates in the state - not Herman Knickerbocker or whatever his name is.
