Samsung users and Gmail

Am brand new to the Samsung g5, so bare with me. Anyhow, tried to email a pic from the gallery this morning, and it didn't go. Tried it again, same thing. Also couldn't receive emails. This just started today, and was fine the last week. I removed my gmail account from the phone, and rebooted it, then re-installed the gmail account. Still nothing. Tried turning off my home wifi, going network, and no change. Searched the net, and surprised there were others having the same issue, but no real answers.
Verizon in store rep "had it fixed," but two hrs later, back to the same thing. I found a ton of iPhone users raising hell over the iPhone and gmail, but for the Samsung, there weren't answers for the issue. Tech support (a joke), at verizon tried to help, but was a waste of time. Any ideas?

Am on hold with Samsung now. Last thing I can think of.
 
Are you using the GMail app or a different app?

I use K9 for sending and receiving and have no problem with Gmail account.

Was using the gmail app as well as the used gmail with the email app that came with it. Anyhow, I get it fixed. Actually, not me. Called Samsung tech line, and oh yes, went through the typical verify this, and that. None the less, the female (foreign gal), wanted me to download an app that would give her access, and I didn't trust it, but what the hell. Believe it or not, she went all through it, fixed some settings I knew nothing of (nor did Verizon tech line, or the Verizon store guy.) Needed to download what's called smart Tudor, and type in her access code. The rest was easy. Reinstalled the gmail app, and works fine now. Best thing, I'll say is skip the carrier tech line, store nerds lol, and go straight to Samsung.

And will read up on K9.
 
Guess while here, any of you use the Samsung charging cover? Opinions? Ran into a gal who manages an AT&T store (she's still mad at me over verizon, but bought a ton of other useless shit from her, lol), she's using a G5 with just the bodyguardz tempered glass, telling me unless I'm in construction, I probably didn't need the pelican case, which I like damned well. Tough, not bulky, tight-zero rattles/movement, etc., Don't necessarily agree with her as use in gym, boating,etc., Anyhow, she's got one of these on her phone,,and said she'd never go back to using the charging port: http://www.samsung.com/us/mobile/cell-phones-accessories/EP-CG900IBUSTA
Problem is I wouldn't be able to use the pelican. If I should just plug the damned thing in and stop being a lazy ass, say the word.:D

Seriously, I don't see the usefulness of a wireless charging cover if you still have to walk to a designated area in your house and sit the phone on a charging pad. If the phone could charge wirelessly no matter where it was sitting in the house, that would be a whole different story.

Think I'll wait til there's a deal where I walk in the house, and it starts charging. And yes, I did feel lazy asking about that charging mat. Lol
 
Btw, you mentioned not using a case for the note 3. Are you using a bodyguardz screen cover? I just put one on the S5, and it's extremely nice! The tempered glass is nice, making swiping the screen pretty slick to the touch. Also is clear, and made the one that came with the Pelican case look like junk in terms of clarity, and protection from dropping. If I go with the note four, will carry it with just the bodyguardz on it. I'll note, the S5 in the Pelican case is identical in size to the note 3. The difference in the screens between the tow is night and day, however. Can see myself with the note 4, as I'm sold on the Samsung line.:) Am a reformed iPhone user, lol.

No, I don't use a screen cover. And the reason I don't use any of that stuff is because the value of the phone is going to zero from the moment you buy it. If I was to drop the phone at some point and it broke all to hell, I'd march right up to the AT&T store and buy another phone, which as fast as they introduce new phones these days, would likely guarantee that my next phone would be superior to the one before it. My historical pattern is that I'm going to drop the phone a few times throughout the year, but only one drop will end cracking the screen or screwing it up is some other way, which is perfect timing for moving into a new one. :D
 
And not only that, but I can't stand the bulk of a case when the phone is in my pocket. And I refuse to wear a belt clip under all circumstances. :p
 
At the risk of being sexist, women don't like cases (and Baron) hahaha. Anyway, you can toss the thing like it's trash in that Pelican case and not worry about it. I dropped an IP4 the day I got it (case was unavailable on release day) and cracked the screen.

Personal experience. My oldest was in the Jacuzzi and had grabbed my S5 to watch youtube... in the tub. Well of course he dropped it in the tub as I walked in the bathroom in an attempt to hide it. Pulled it out and removed the case... phone was dry as dirt.
