Samsung 191T or 191T + TFT ??????

Quote from huangks:

I heard Dell makes a 20" lcd with 16ms response time. Anyone owns that one?
That is a "repackaged" ViewSonic, and it looks like the one to get if Samsung does not respond soon.

The 193T is a analog monitor with a large bezel and a 1995 compliance rating. The 191T is a digital monitor with a small bezel which is better for a multiple monitor setup and a 1999 compliance rating. The specs are not better for the 193 than the 191.
What? Actually, all of this is nonsense. 193T is the far superior model and has made 191T obsolete. Samsung doesn't even have it on its sites anymore. 193T has lower response time, and much higher contrast ratio!

1) They are both digital. In fact, 193T features both A&D. 191T only accepts digital, doesn't it?
2) 193T is rated *all of* TCO '95, '99, '03
3) Large bezel??? Who's been telling you stories? See pictures below.

Just for your reference / courtesy:

191T

19" D-sub/DVI monitor
500:1 Contrast Ratio

193T:

19" Analog/DVI-D TFT-LCD monitor
750:1 Contrast Ratio
- Also, lower dot pitch than 191T
- Once again ower response than 191T
- Superior in many aspects

Have Fun!

I have been patiently waiting for someone to answer my question...this was the reason I started this thread. The discussion however is fruitful and I am learning a lot...But here is the question again.

What are the differences between these 2 model numbers?
  • Samsung 191T
  • Samsung 191T+

Why so impatient? Why bother people with your questions if you can look them up on the web?
I have yet to find something that can't be answered via google and two minutes of research!

Google is your friend.

I guess my answer wasn't good enough?

191T
500:1 Contrast Ratio (I stand corrected)

191T+:
750:1 Contrast Ratio

Sicilian....Forgive my ignorance...does this mean that one that has the + sign with the higher ratio is brighter? What actually is contrast ratio? Will there be less shadowing if this value is higher?

Please tell me where you find the Samsung 193T because the Samsung website doesn't even list a 193T! There is a 193S which is under Analog monitors and it's contrast ratio is 700:1. The 191T is a digital monitor with a contrast ratio of 750:1. And yes, the 193S has a much wider bezel than the 191T. The picture you have is the 191T, not the 193! The 191T is very much on the Samsung website. And a lot of the people on elitetrader have 191Ts and it is far from obsolete! The 191T accepts both digital and analog and also has TV out.

So please site your source for the 193T and visit the Samsung website so that you can correct your misinformation about the 191T.
