Safety nets for birth control coverage aren’t working

As opposed to providing her with access to contraceptives or abortion, in which case the cost would be negligible, or at least not millions.
I have no problem providing them with free abortions, but history has shown providing them with birth control is useless, they are simply too irresponsible to use it, so it will just be a handout to those of us who actually make the choice to act responsibly, the ones who dont need it. I would have no problem with providing anyone on welfare with free vasectomies, and tube tying as well, quite frankly we should be forcing sterilisation on anyone who wants welfare.
I doubt highly they have no access to abortion. They have cell phones, welfare, EBT cards, subsidized housing, etc, and they can't afford a $2.50 condom? Riiight.
Avoiding the question? You certainly are the expert on that. My point was that there is something besides access to contraception/abortion that is driving the pregnancies - like no family planning. Like no father figure in their life. A breakdown of the african american family values system like Bill Cosby has gone on about for decades. That sorta thing.
But it looks to me like I answered - they have access to contraception.

I did. I don't agree with the Salon writer on the extent of the link between the availability of contraception to the amount of "unwanted" pregnancies. I believe that it is a factor, but no where near the major one.
I also believe that access to contraception is only a drug store walk away, and there is more than enough government assistance provided to cover for that if it were important enough to the individual.
There is no link whatsoever between availability of birth control and unwanted pregnancies, if your young you can go to dozens of places to get free domers, and if you cant afford the 25 cents for a condom out of a machine maybe you shouldnt be having sex. Bottom line is people can find it if they want it. What guy doesnt remember making a late night run to grab a dome in the middle of the night?
Db is apparenty trying to beat his record for the most unsupported assumptions in a single thread. We don't spend a dime? In truth we spend billions on these people. The cited article didn't say there were no funds being spent on contraceptives. They just thought there should be more. Funny thing about that, the demand for free stuff is essentially infinite. Birth control pills are $9 a month as i recall. Maybe cut back on the malt liquor and they could afford them.

Liberals dismiss out of hand the idea that blacks are capable of self control or good judgment. Of course, with the government standing by with a limitless array of benefits, why should they? Is it too cruel to expect black women to use minimal common sense? Why do child support laws only apply to white guys? What posssible justification can there be for subsidizing endless illegitimate births by the same mother.
