Safe stocks to buy for long term profit

Hello

I apologize if I posted in the wrong category.

However I have a few thousands saved up that I would much rather invest instead spent it restoring an automobile.

I am not trying to get rich quick here but I want to buy something that I know will for sure double or triple in value when the recession end.

I was thinking of investing in the big bank stocks

GS

Maybe a couple other stocks such as

F
TTM
TCK

Any help is appreciated.
