I realize that this is not wall street news per se, but I think we will see it on the front page of the journal.

Saddam has been found guilty of murder and crimes against humanity, and sentenced to death by hanging.

The situation in Iraq will be extremely volatile over the next months until the sentence is carried out.

One interesting thing has developed, and that is that Saddam's lawyer, an American named Ramsey Clark is being ordered to leave Iraq for sending the judge a note containing insulting language pertaining to the Iraqi people.

Automatic appeals will take place in the Iraqi courts and will be reviewed by a 10 judge panel. If that process goes without delay and the sentence is accepted, Saddam will hang. The process for appeal should take approximately 20-30 days according to court officials.
 
My BS meter says that if Saddam actually gets the rope in a short time (< 3 months) the destablizing forces in that area, and the naysayers of the present administration are getting much more press than they deserve.

Saddam's hanging is a weak november surprise - can't bring out osama, so bring out saddam.

Actually, considering the situation in Iraq, this needs to be wrapped up quickly so that in a saigon pullout scenario he isn't around to resume power. That would be a bloody nose to the US the likes of which we have never seen.
 
george bush has now killed more innocent iraqis in 5 years than saddam did in his whole reign of 'terror'.

george bush's foreign policies have killed countless thousands of others also in the middle east as a whole.

same for blair.

israel's pm also killed 100,000's of thousands of innocent lebanese people in their pathetic spat with the arabs.

when will we see these 3 evil men hang? they are responsible for far more evil and pointless deaths than saddam. in fact, lets not forget. the usa and the uk SUPPORTED saddam in his 'reign of terror'. we gave him the means, the money AND the arms and turned a blind eye!

i find the whole thing very hypocritical and a sad reflection on our own societies and leaders.

i guess i will get shot down for looking at this objectively, rather than swallowing what the media wants me to believe without question. who's the nieve person?
 
We should nuke Iran and put that country into civil war. Same with North Korea and any other country which pisses Us off. Any country that defies America can end up worse than Iraq!

WHat a pompous American reply to world politics...no wonder it is such a mess, same attitude with this guy as it is with the current administration...what an idiot.
