Sad day for Americans...

Quote from makloda:

No, you crybaby. If I don't like something then I take action. You chime in with other whiners and do nothing.

If you think the US is going to be bankrupted, then buy gold, short the USD and just move & STFU.

Instead, you keep whining how your country is going down the drain and your children will have to live in the streets. Just another clown who doesn't put his money where his mouth is.

Makloda you don't even live here in the US.

Quote from swtrader:

last summer, an Amnesty biil was being shoved down the throats of the American public - would have cost trillions... it was stopped, and it was stopped by the masses that called the senate shutting down the capital switchboards(of which i was one), it wasnt stopped by useless dickheads like you, who advocate a silent exit

It will return and be passed in the middle of the night when only a percentage of voting members will be there. Read about it the next day. Politricksters know the game. Oh, and look for a distraction story about that time... perhaps something about Georgia?

Quote from makloda:

Yes. Believe it or not, here on ET there are dozens of crybabies such as yourself blaming their personal misfortune on NAFTA and globalization. I reply to each and every one of them and tell them to simply leave the US and stop whining. It's so easy!

Actually, while I have no blame to spread personally for NAFTA (since my life is not dependent upon cheap imported goods that have to be replaced instead of fixed), many people in my life have been ruined by NAFTA, GATT et al. I have read NAFTA and issue an open challenge to anyone to do the same and then take up their soapbox to defend it. I defy you. NAFTA finished off what began decades ago, to rid this nation of its manufacturing base and eliminate the living wage job for middle America.

PS: The NAFTA treaty is 6,192 pages with side agreements. Waiting...

people like him are exactly what's wrong with out country right now - foreign interlopers urging the citizen into inaction

This is so funny how Landis shows up when Makloda is getting shit on , the Makloda shows up when Landis is getting punched in the gut.

These two are dumb as dirt and thinks its un American to voice your opinion.

When in reality its more un American to sit and do notihng like they do.

They patrol this site like trolls, defending the establishment.

At least they do not introduce new, incessant trolling threads like Vue did.

Quote from DataExec:

Bashing the addition of 550,000 legal, immigrant workers is an overly simplistic approach to a complex problem in America.

True, we are facing rising unemployment (6.1% and growing) due to a recession, a slowdown in construction and a meltdown in the financial industries. This will cascade into more unemployment as credit tightens causing an increase in business failures.

Neither the recession nor the subsequent rise in unemployment is caused by immigrant workers.

On the contrary, there is a shortage of skilled workers, especially engineers, in certain industries (oil exploration, biotech, software development, aerospace, etc.).

The chronic problem of getting visas for skilled workers is causing many companies to "go global" to solve the problem. An example is Microsoft opening a new research and development center this past year in Vancouver, Canada. A quote from Microsoft --
"...allows the company to recruit and retain highly skilled people affected by immigration issues in the U.S."
They also have an R&D center with 350+ in Hong Kong, a facility in Toronto and others planned around the world.

Shut down the entry of skilled workers and the companies will move operations overseas.

Out of 7 pages of emotional clap trap this guy is the only person to have made an intelligent comment.....

While I agree with your assessment that our children will be paying for this for decades to come and the irresponsible folks who made and took those loans should stew in their own misery I have to think about what life would be like if the government DIDN'T do this? It would be a worldwide depression all over again and our kids would be begging for a loaf of bread or breaking into your neighbors house to steal their milk. It would be the Great Depression II. There is no easy way out of this but rest assured, you do not want to such a division of wealth as we saw after 1929.

Quote from PohPoh:

Sigh...

Today, my fellow Americans, our government decided to increase the national debt, debt that our children and grandchildren will be forced to pay back, by more than 100%...

Make no mistake - this is unprecedented in the history of this country, and in the history of economics. Never has a government bailout been this large, this widespread, and the consequences of which will be so utterly damning as to confuse and frustrate even the most ardent scholars of the future.

I'm angry. I'm pissed. And it's not because of trading (in fact, I have traded this well)....it's because even ME, a reasonably intelligent professional, KNOWS that this is the wrong thing to do..

Jane and Joe Smith who foreclosing?
Billy Stockholder?
Foreign entity X holding FRE/FME corp bonds?

FUCK THEM!

Damn this socialization of losses.
Damn the inflation.
Damn the lies.
