TQ -
Went to chat, but you were gone.
OK, I'll take you up on your offer to answer some questions:
1. Are you a price pattern/S/R trader (i.e. no indicators), like 4re?
2. If you use indicators, how many? How many is enough, and how many is too many - leading to analysis paralysis?
3. I know you preach using longer time frames (5 min and longer). Do you use multiple timeframes in your analysis? Like X and 5X (or 5 min and 30 min for example)? Perhaps looking for a trend on 30 min (perhaps as simple as a channel, or slope of MA) and use triggers on 5min?
4. If you do use indicators, do you give any credence to oscillators (take your pick among many), or are they too fickle for you (OS and OB can extend for too long).
5. I perceive that you go with the trend rather than trying to grab reversals against it. Is this correct?
6. When you talk about backtesting, are you backtesting on something like TS (or another platform), or are you manually going back through historical charts? I've heard some various credibility problems with daytrading backtesting (especially on intrabar tick data) on TS. I don't currently have TS, but am considering getting it for backtesting capabilities.
Thanks.
Sandy
