Just covered 2nd half at 795. Running into the daily 400 sma on the DJ-30. I'm not saying that we won't break it but this seems like a good area to take profits.

Can always get short again if we break and head to the 500 at 10,626 cash.

Man, it is all over that 400 sma right now. My template says that I should still be short. That's what I get for mixing discretion in with mechanical.

Looks like we got some more room to the downside.

Maybe so, but he's still fun.

And he may have legitimately changed his mind.

For instance, when my (long at xxxx) went against me I took a 4 pt hit and reversed (it's easy using NT), so now I'm -7 (that's including comissions) instead of -200. Is this optimal? No. Is it honest and I'm learning from my experiences here? Yeah.

So you get what you put into the process.

If you treat it like it's bullshit, well, then it is.

If you treat it like a forum where you can talk with other traders, put your stuff out there and see how it works with an audience looking at you, and make modifications if it doesn't, well it's a great trading lab.

FYI...I got another short signal at 784 but I'm not taking it because I don't like to put on positions at this time of the morning.
 
Very well put JJ.

Each of us works differently. We may agree or disagree on a trade or even on our systems, but that's the beauty of this kind of chat. I'm always picking up bits and pieces from others and I hope that whatever little I input may be of help to someone else.

Right now I'm waiting to see if we may hold at this point. If anything we're due for at least a few point retracement. I do think, imho, that we will see around 1230. Maybe today.

Well, we're now below 760. This is my punishment for exiting my short from 837 before my template said to.

Mechanical beats discretionary again.
