I work late and when I get home I mentally prepare myself for the next day (run calcs, map out strategies, mentally rehearse the next day's trades with if/then scenarios - if I anticipate taking any trades ....

I know what I am going to do the next day WAY before the market opens ... been working like a charm (which you'll see if you check back through the thread).

Take a nap, getup, get some coffee, juice, etc., take my trade(s), do it again the next day.

I ain't play'in.

James

That is the right way to trade any market... I wish I did that consistently. JJ is a good role model for every one

Hey Gary,

We've had a nice tight range the last couple'a days (I have S coming in at about 1282 and R at 1286+).

I'm definitely looking for some breakout action, do know what, just don't know when. Expected it yesterday, but it didn't materialize, so I'm keep'in my eyes on the screen today, I'm sure there's a potential trend opportunity right around the corner ...

Best,

James

JJ,
I know what you mean. I have been anxiously awaiting the big move. Maybe the holiday week has kept it pretty tight. The good thing is that it has been tradeable this week not like leadign up to FOMC or anything. Well you guys have fun today and let know all about what I missed.

Gary

Short at 1279.25 (not a recommendation)

Market opened with a drop and can't seem to breakthrough yesterday's previous lows (so support becomes resistance) ... we'll see how this one plays out.

JJ could you please tell us which reasoning caused you to think short - maybe which indicator in which time frame

Was looking for an easy drop at this point ... hasn't materialized, so now it's a wait and see game (man, talk about epic battles!).

P.S. Keep watching your charts, 1282 continues to act as strong resistance ... if the market starts to fall again I'll reshort.

JJ

So now it's breached and we're probably looking at upside action.

If a trade sets-up this afternoon I'll take it, otherwise I'll take my -2 pts and call it a day.

They're complaining about the PPT (Plunge Prevention Taskforce) over at mymini's journal, but hey, I just let each trade play itself out.

While the market action over the past several days is definitely unusual it isn't really abnormal, you just have to trade your system, and trust it to take you to profitability.

IMHO price is just retracing until it takes out 1290 (to the upside).

Price needs to clear 1277 to go lower, then 1274, then free fall.
