Of course, the other side of that argument could be that the ES uses up all of that energy in that early run up and we then get stuck in range. The ranges have been rather poor the last couple of days.

At some point these tight ranges of the last few days will break, just not sure it will be today.

It is still summer, it hasn't been a very bad range one I must admit. And also I said that it is unlikely to stay within MY range requirements.

I have difficulties today getting limit orders filled. There's just not enough volume to give me fills, although ES might sit on a particular price for ages :).

Do you guys use market orders when you enter and exit?

Thanks!

The broker I use has this order tool that's really just meant for generating limit orders. So I kind of got used to using it. Because you can do a single mouse-click and your order is at Globex. No confirmation needed.

Interactivebrokers has many third-party front-ends, so I think I'm going to find one that allows me to easily switch from limit to market or stop order. Just with the press of a button.

If you watch the bid/ask, you should not get bad slippage, max .25, unless you start trading during the FOMC.

Very surprised with this comment. There has been slow volume, but you are still getting usually 100 contracts at the bid or ask at the very minimum.

If your order isn't getting filled at the time there's a simple answer. Cancel the limit and go to the market and miss 1-2 ticks at the most.
