Selective outrage by people who lived for 20 years on social media. The current civilian hunt that is going on everywhere is a clear reflection that we don't have a proper response to counter Putin. And this is the result of being poorly prepared and having elected weak (or should I say brain dead) presidents and leaders. Has nothing to do with their love for Ukrainians. It's a cold hearted, calculated move to buy the goodwill of their domestic social media consuming lemmings. It's all about emotions and feelings today. Not joining into this ridiculous movement for companies like Nike means that their emotionally fragile fanbase gets angered.

You don't seem to understand. This is not politics as usual. This is unhinged unprovoked military invasion of a European country, with nuclear threats galore. This makes Russia a rogue pariah state. With the emphasis on pariah. There is no business as usual. This is NOT usual.

You think that what the Western private companies and non-governmental organizations are doing is done to punish Russians, but you're wrong.

Every company, when it lists its assets, lists "good will" as an asset. Basically, you can think of it as the company's image in public opinion. For some companies it is a significant percentage of the company's valuation.

I repeat, Russia is now a rogue pariah state. Selling to Russia, dealing with it in any way, today, reduces that "good will" quite a bit, due to unhinged Russian military aggression. A lot of companies and organizations are not willing to reduce their "good will" asset in that way.

Yes if you want to do the right thing because it opens up a whole can of worms just because of some kind of "emergency" because that can be used later at any time with any justification. What is to say that you or your children won't qualify as "rich motherfuckers" one day? And won't have spare assets? Just because you are rich and just because your assets are spare, you deserve to have your stuff taken away? How do you define rich? How do you define "spare"? You only need to sleep in one room at the end of the day, so all the other rooms in your house, should they be considered "spare"? Can the government come to your house and occupy all your rooms in your house except your bedroom if it doesn't like what you said or did? How do you define "rich"? Anybody making above the "poverty line"? Assuming you are single, the poverty line for a household with one person is just an income of $12,800 per year, so should the government considers you a rich motherfucker if you are making above this amount and seize your personal assets without any trials or investigations just because it doesn't like what you said or did?

Wars are not meant to be in peace.

No they are not meant to be in peace that's why they should only involve soldiers and not civilians. These rich motherfuckers, no matter how rich, and no matter how motherfucking and no matter how "spare" their assets are should not be touched in the name of war. They are civilians. Nobody is defending Putin but there is a right way to fight and stop a war and there is a wrong way. Seizing personal assets of civilians without investigations or trials is not right. Two wrongs do not make one right.
