S&P looks good to a new high

As I said on another thread, GOLD is ramping up. Now it might just mean end of month stuff but I believe there is abnormal buying of gold related instruments lately. The question is whether fund managers are going to sell off stock in a big way to buy back in future. The naz is really strained right now.

Romeo, Romeo.. whyfore art thou such a braggart?

J/kidding. :D

I know you like to have fun with the good folks at ET.

You bring up a good point though. Here's a thread dealing with (and thus far, but let's not speak too soon, correctly calling) maybe the most important factor -- the direction of "the big M" (the market) -- and yet everyone's still busy as ever trading "what I see" and only caring about "the next five minutes" and picking "the 'right' stock to scalp". :)

Yes, yes. And the people need to loosen up around here.

The S&P now looks ready to reach a new high. Do you agree?
I think you should include one more option in the vote: "Do you care if the S&P goes to a new high?"

It's too bad there's only a select few here with the grapefruits to own up to these fine calls. I'll take the eerie silence by ET regulars as another set of notches on my belt.

But 1070 and 1080? I don't think it's going that high!

Your calls would be much "finer" is you addressed the "where" and "when" along with the "will". I believe that one day the DOW will be at 20K. Where?...who knows. When?...maybe when I'm in the nursing home eating apple sauce. :)

are you related to Joey or Dee Dee Ramone?

are you a relative of Joey Ramone?

No...but I did meet him in his apartment on 3rd Ave & 14thSt in NYC in 1993. A buddy of mine knew him quite well, and we dropped by to say hello. The second the door opened, an odor that seemed like a combination of vomit, beer and JD hit us in the face.

I don't want to be "sedated" :) Thanks to you...I will now have that song in my head for a while.

are telling the truth. That is around the time they played at what is now Webster hall. So you have the right neighborhood.

If you don't care whether the S&P goes to a new high, then you are not a "real trader".

Can you explain why you believe this to be true?

Do real traders only make their money on multi-week directional bets on the overall market?
