S&P isn't the problem, Term Limits is the problem.

Quote from BSAM:

Voter apathy, due to political corruption. We need forced turnover.

And then what?

Do you really seriously believe "the elite" won't simply find another way?

Seriously?

They can Rule The World but they won't be able to figure out a way around term limits?

Seriously?

This starts and ends with voters making better choices. There's nothing new here. The Romans said it 2000 years ago - bread and circuses is the inevitable end game for democracies. Not much to be done except enjoy the ride as best as we can.

That's not what I asked.

Do you really believe that people motivated and smart enough to "rule the world" are going to have the slightest problem getting around term limits?

The post office will have to be bailed out. It's essential. who else will process and deliver junk mail for a few pennies. :D

This should help:eek: NOT! Jesus, this country is a mess.

WASHINGTON (Reuters) - The U.S. Postal Service posted a net loss of $3.1 billion in its third quarter and warned again it would default on payments to the federal government if Congress did not step in.

Total mail volume for the quarter that ended June 30 fell to 39.8 billion pieces, a 2.6 percent drop from the same period a year earlier, as consumers turn to email and pay bills online.

The mail carrier, which does not get taxpayer funds, has struggled to overhaul its business as mail volumes fall. It has said personnel costs weigh heavily and is facing a massive retiree health benefit prepayment next month.

"We are experiencing a severe cash crisis and are unable to continue to maintain the aggressive prepayment schedule," Joseph Corbett, the agency's chief financial officer, said in a statement.

The post office is essential. Send anything by UPS lately?

Very very expensive. Without the USPS the economy will be harmed, no question about it.

Wait a minute here. Why do you think the voters will be any better at choosing the replacements?..

It's not about choosing the replacements- it's about the politicians putting the country first instead of worrying about being re-elected first.

That's a fantasy, term limits or not. It will never happen, humans simply don't operate that way. Never have, never will.

Remember after world war one when the military teamed up with the WWI bonus marcher and MacArthur championed their cause. And how the military teamed up with the unions when they were sent to disburse them. And at Kent State when the national guard embraced the demonstrators. Right on Bro.
I remember, little bit different situations though. But point taken.
