S&P future, how to do the maths?

Hi all,

Another question about the Emini S&P 500 future (CME)

The tick infos from my broker are as follow:

1 tick = 0,25 points =12,5usd

Or, the market moves by 1/10th of points!!!

from 1306,6 to 1306,7 for example. How do I do the maths, then?

Is each tick worth 12,5/2,5?

Thx in advance for your help!

You don't "do the math"... all you need be concerned about is "change in the ES". Each tick is $12.50

Right or wrong, it is the standard and you have to accept it.

An analogy:
Somebody may say "Why we don't have 1/4 cent coins"
Someone else "why we don't have 1/10 cent coins"
And so on ad infinitum.

So standards must be set, even if they are not perfect.

The S&P 500 Big contract trades in 10 cent ticks. The Emini small contract trades in 25 cent ticks worth $12.50 each ($50 per point).
