Very little competition for EUR-based contracts. How long did it take for Eurex to print those numbers? I see ES hitting the DAX volume in less than a year. Granted, the DAX is a much larger contract.

I think EUREX have learned from experience re expansion into the US markets and the loss of volume in their EURIBOR (?) contract to LIFFE.

I can’t see any reason why EUREX shouldn’t introduce mini contracts – I’m sure there’s a demand if the US success is any indicator.

You see ES hitting DAX volume in a year? With an ever-expanding European Union, I not so sure.

I just checked the site and they did over 600k options on the EuroStock50 yesterday with open interest of over 33 million
