So while the posted lists on this site could have many uses it is my hope that they at least serve as an indicator or "barometer" of sorts to gauge what's happening in the market.

There are multiple strategies utilizing this information. However, in terms of prediction the future, the non-existent future is always unknowable. Nobody knows the future and you don't have to know it in order to be extremely successful.
