Quote from spike500:

As a daytrader i don't know anything about medium or long terms, but i think we will stay long till end of september. All the downwards moves will be corrections probably.

More than 1 month ago i posted this. We are again 1% below the high of the year. I was sure that the trend would stay long.
End of september we will see if my prediction was correct.

quote "stolen" from another poster on ET:
please know you novice traders out there, that the big money is made by identifying and sitting with a trend, as per Livermore's famous comments. Not by calling for a 10% correction when there's 50% to be made with the trend.

Who is still playing in a childish way with Rubberbird?
You're a pathetic egotripper.
No wonder people stop posting interesting things.

Fair question..and deserving an answer.

It's another "intermediate" term top,
that will occur this week,
and last for a few months.

oops what babar?

Not only was this thread right on the money,
it is also the 2nd most popular trading thread of 2005.
The most popular was my subsequent trading thread, "The S&P topped..."

I guess your poll actually reads:
  • Yes, rubberbird is usually correct 64 33.51%
  • No, there's more upside ahead 44 23.04%
  • I don't know/ I don't care/ I AM an idiot 83 43.46%

and what is your statistical inference regarding the 43% of ET that voted for choice #3?

It is mostly the ET herd that roams through forums, having nothing of value to add to discussions, with an unjustified high opinion about itself, ...

Think about it: to waste your time to answer to a poll you don't care about ...

I just try to ignore it (although I don't always succeed).
