
S.F. economist weighs in on effects of proposed sales tax hike
A proposal to increase the sales tax in San Francisco by 0.75 percent which would amount to a 9.25 percent sales tax, wouldreduce spendingby $154 million, but add about $150 to $155 million in revenue. The city wants to use the additional revenue to fund transportation and homeless services, but small businesses oppose the proposal.(San Francisco Business Times)
