A proposal to increase the sales tax in San Francisco by 0.75 percent which would amount to a 9.25 percent sales tax, wouldreduce spendingby $154 million, but add about $150 to $155 million in revenue. That's the sales tax rate where I live.....BUT we don't have a state income tax sooo a bit different. Just tax everybody to death in the big cities or until they move.

who cares if it reduces spending as long as it grows the government. besides if spending goes too low the government can always spend more
